Oats are a versatile and nutritious grain which contain more soluble fibre than any other grain. Rolled oats are a type of lightly processed wholegrain. Rolled oats re-absorb water and cook much more quickly than whole groats or steel-cut oats. Traditionally, they are made from oat groats that have been dehusked and steamed, before being rolled into flat flakes under heavy rollers and then stabilised by being lightly toasted.
